Sharjah Ladies Club has successfully concluded on Saturday, 24 January at Al Seyouh Ladies Park in Sharjah, bringing together women and young ladies for an evening of sport, community energy and celebration under the theme “Into The Virtual Universe.” The event was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council.
The run welcomed more than 350 participants from a wide range of nationalities, reflecting the event’s growing engagement year after year. Emirati participation was also a standout this year, reaffirming the event’s role as an encouraging annual platform for women’s fitness and achievement.
The 5KM category delivered an exciting finish, with Rkia El Moukim taking first place, followed by Mueni Mutuku in second and Nuraiym Erkebaeva in third.
In the Emirati runners’ category, the top three winners were Ruqayya Almarzooqi, Noura Alkhalaf, and Sara Kahwar. Winners received awards as part of AED 21,000 total cash prize pool, alongside gifts provided by event sponsors.
Commenting on the event, Mrs. Shaikha Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director General of Sharjah Ladies Club, said: “We are proud of the success of the 11th edition of Sharjah Ladies Run, which continues to strengthen the place of sport as a way of life and encourages women to participate in a safe, motivating environment. This reflects the vision of of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, in empowering women through initiatives that support healthy choices with a positive impact on the family and the wider community, aligned with the UAE’s ‘Year of the Family’.”
She added: “This year’s Sustainability Initiative also marks a practical step that reflects our commitment to the UAE’s direction toward a more aware and sustainable future, while encouraging positive environmental habits among participants.” Al Suwaidi also noted that the Club will continue delivering sports and community events throughout the year that support women’s health and strengthen their presence in society.
As part of the Sustainability Initiative, the event introduced practical measures to reduce environmental impact, including race bags made entirely from recycled materials and medals produced from recycled bamboo, alongside dedicated water-bottle recycling containers in collaboration with Bee’ah.
Beyond the race, the event featured a lively mix of activations and supporting experiences. Sharjah Ladies Club facilities contributed to interactive services and experiences for participants and visitors, alongside a future-inspired program featuring AI-based experiences and smart robotic elements, creating a modern atmosphere that extended beyond the traditional race format.
Participants also enjoyed healthy food options from food vendors, alongside to fitness parts such as warm-up sessions and fitness challenges led by instructors from Fitness 180, rounding out a complete experience that blended sport, wellbeing and entertainment.
Sharjah Ladies Run 2026 was supported by Crescent Petroleum as the Main Sponsor, alongside Sharjah Sports Council and Sharjah Oil Refining Company as Gold Sponsors, and Sharjah Municipality and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry as Silver Sponsors.
The event also received support from Zulekha Hospital, Dr. Nutrition Center, Masafi, Kiehl’s, Lush, lululemon, Braé and Sebamed.
