Since the Nationalisation of the United Arab Emirates in December, 1971, Emirati women have been supported and encouraged by our good rulers to secure a rightful position in society and become an important element in its development.
From our beginning in 1982, our commitment at the Sharjah Ladies Club has always been to provide a safe haven for women whilst helping women to achieve their goals and dreams. Over time, the club has undergone a dramatic transformation to become one of the most exclusive health and leisure clubs in the UAE.
Our founder and chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, wanted to create a centre that would serve the community and touch the lives of everyone in it. Under her guidance, the Sharjah Ladies Club branches were established, beginning with Al Dhaid Ladies Club in 1996 to the founding of Al Bataeh Ladies Club in 2003. From that, a group of 10 branches were distributed between the cities and surrounding areas of the Emirate of Sharjah in both central and East of Sharjah.
The branches are considered one of the governmental institutions which focuses on strengthening the collaboration with the community. It takes cares of women’s affairs with the goal of opening new channels to exchange talents and ideas, whilst preparing plans and collaborated work that serve as guidance for current and future goals.
